MOSCOW, December 15 Preventive measures for those involved in the criminal case regarding the shooting at the Bryansk gymnasium were changed on behalf of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation, a source in law enforcement agencies said.
On Friday, the Bryansk Regional Court softened the preventive measure for all four defendants in the case: the father of the girl who shot, the director and employee of the private security company and the deputy director of the gymnasium. The first three were initially placed in custody, the last — under house arrest.
““The preventive measures were changed after appropriate petitions on behalf of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation,” the agency’s interlocutor said.
He did not disclose the reasons for this decision.
On December 7, a shooting occurred in Bryansk gymnasium No. 5. According to the Investigative Committee, a 14-year-old girl brought with her a pump-action shotgun, from which she shot at her classmates, after which she committed suicide. As a result, two died (one of them was the shooter), five were taken to the hospital with injuries.
Criminal charges were filed for murder, attempted murder, incitement to suicide, careless storage of a firearm, unsafe service and negligence. Their investigation has been placed under control in the central office of the Russian Investigative Committee.
