MOSCOW, December 17 Red caviar is one of the main treats on the holiday table, and it has not been deprived of consumer attention this year either: the average bill for the purchase of sockeye salmon caviar has grown quite noticeably (by 40%) and chum salmon (by 23%), but for pink salmon caviar, on the contrary, the average bill decreased (by 11%), according to a study by Russian Standard Bank for.
«Pink salmon caviar was most often found in December cash register receipts. It accounted for 73% of receipts in the top three reviewed. Moreover, the demand for this type of caviar has increased significantly. A year earlier, it was also in the lead, but with a share of 39%,» they calculated authors of the study.
And, finally, in third position — sockeye salmon caviar. The bank's statistics also showed a decrease in the share of its purchases — to 17%. In December last year the figure was 30%. At the same time, the average bill for one purchase of sockeye salmon caviar in the last month of the outgoing year was 2,175 rubles. A year earlier it was 1,549 rubles.
Prices for red caviar in January of this year for the first time in the history of Rosstat observations exceeded 6 thousand rubles, reaching 6,125 rubles. Then they gradually grew for several more months to a maximum of 6,315 rubles. Since August, prices have started to decline. In November, the price of red caviar continued to decline, losing 1.4% over the month. As a result, at the end of autumn the price was 5,974 rubles — the minimum since December last year (5,940 rubles).
