MOSCOW, December 17 The Ukrainian National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NACP) suspended the status of the Austrian group of banks Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI) as an “international sponsor” war», the corresponding mark appeared on the website of the agency that maintains the specified register.
“The status is suspended for the period of bilateral consultations with the involvement of representatives of the European Commission,” says a message published on the NAPC website.
According to the Ukrainian publication «League», Raiffeisen Bank has been on the list of «war sponsors» since March 2023. The basis for this was the group's decision to continue operations in Russia, where the local Raiffeisen Bank is said to be considered one of the systemically important banks. In addition, it is noted that the bank “took 200% advantage of the sanctions,” which led to the exit of its competitors from the Russian market.
