Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) announced the decision to zero duties on the import of chicken eggs into the Russian Federation from January to June 30, 2024.
The EEC message states that the Council decided to provide a tariff benefit in the form of an exemption from paying import customs duties in regarding chicken eggs. It is noted that the corresponding benefit will be provided in the period from January 1 to June 30, 2024 for supplies of up to 1.2 billion units to Russia.
According to the EEC Trade Minister Andrei Slepnev, a temporary tariff benefit will ensure supplies of chicken eggs at prices comparable to domestic production, in particular from Turkey and Iran. The EEC also clarified that the tariff benefit will be provided provided that the authorized body confirms the intended purpose of the imported goods.
