The Ministry of Energy did not see the prerequisites for lifting the ban on diesel fuel exports

MOSCOW, December 17There are currently no prerequisites for completely lifting the ban on the export of winter diesel fuel from Russia, Nikolai Shulginov, head of the Russian Ministry of Energy, told reporters on the sidelines of the United Russia congress.
“No,” he answered the question about the existence of prerequisites for lifting the ban on the export of winter fuel.

The United Russia congress is taking place at the “Russia” exhibition and forum at VDNKh.

Exchange prices for fuel in Russia began to rise in the spring and remained at record levels for several months. The growth rate and retail prices significantly accelerated. The Cabinet of Ministers of the Russian Federation introduced a ban on the export of petroleum products from September 21. At the beginning of October, the measures were adjusted, in particular, the ban on the export of diesel fuel through pipelines was lifted for those who supply at least 50% to the domestic market.
Then, on November 17, the Cabinet of Ministers lifted the ban on gasoline exports. A few days later, the government decided to lift the ban on the export of summer diesel fuel. The total reserves of petroleum products in the Russian Federation amount to more than 5 million tons, the Ministry of Energy reported at the end of November.
In October, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak instructed oil workers to increase the production of winter diesel fuel for the domestic market and for northern deliveries. According to Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov, the Ministry of Energy is monitoring the situation.
