Management of the German energy company curing Energy for Europe (SEFE) has signed long-term agreements with the Norwegian oil and gas concern Equinor for the supply of 129 billion cubic meters of gas. The Financial Times reports this, citing Equinor executive director Anders Opedal.

It is noted that the agreement was signed until 2039, and the total cost is estimated at 50 billion euros. It is planned that gas supplies from Norway will help Germany further reduce its dependence on Russian fuel, as well as compensate for the strong reduction in gas supplies from Russia.

The head of Equinor noted that thanks to the gas deal, it will be possible to provide a third of all needs for the industrial sector German economy. Moreover, such an agreement became the largest for the organization over the past almost 40 years.
