MOSCOW, December 18 Six-time National Basketball Association (NBA) champion ) Kareem Abdul-Jabbar successfully underwent surgery after breaking his hip, according to the league's official website.
In mid-December, Abdul-Jabbar was injured after falling at a concert in Los Angeles. The former Los Angeles Lakers center was taken to the hospital where he was treated.
Abdul-Jabbar played for the Milwaukee Bucks (1969-1975) and Los Angeles Lakers (1975-1989). He is a six-time NBA champion. He held the record for most points scored, which was broken by Lakers forward LeBron James.
