The only chance to see shredded banknotes
The Bank of England will start handing out Christmas tree decorations filled with shredded banknotes. Each visitor can receive one such gift on December 21.
The Bank of England and the museum associated with its history will hold a Christmas promotion. As part of it, each visitor will be given a Christmas tree toy. What will make it unique will be that inside the clear glass ball will be shredded, obsolete banknotes.

The paper money was returned to the Bank of England after its expiration date for destruction. Because banknotes are made of polymer, they are usually shredded and then turned into pellets before being made into new plastic products such as plant pots and storage boxes.
So this is considered the only chance to see shredded banknotes before they are recycled.
The museum is located inside the Bank of England, the entrance to the museum is on Bartholomew Lane. Not surprisingly, the nearest metro station is Bank.
