HAVANA, December 18 Russia and Cuba, following the results of the Havana exhibition-fair FIHAV, began negotiations on the implementation of a project for the processing of organic and used automobile oils, the production of weighing equipment, and also agreed on cooperation in the field of mechanical engineering and localization of automotive production, said Sergei Baldin, trade representative of the Russian Federation in Havana.
“Agreements have been reached on cooperation in the field of mechanical engineering, the supply of medical goods, alcohol, food products, car tires and components, the localization of automobile production, the creation of a joint venture for the production of weighing equipment. Negotiations have begun on the implementation of an investment project for the processing of organic and used motor oils in Cuba «- said Baldin, commenting on the results of the FIHAV-2023 fair, which was held in Havana in November.
Participation in FIHAV, the oldest industry and trade exhibition in the region, was attended by managers and representatives of 37 Russian companies and structures from the fields of transport engineering, oil and gas and chemical industry, logistics, design and construction of industrial facilities, food industry, medicine and pharmaceuticals and IT.
As the Russian trade representative said, during the event, thematic round tables and meetings in B2G and B2B formats were organized in the Russian pavilion and at a separate stand of the Ryazan region with partners from Cuba, Mexico, Venezuela, Panama, Spain and other countries, at the closing ceremony of one of Russian alcohol producers were declared the winner in the “outstanding design” category.
The Havana Fair is positioned in Cuba as an indicator of the investment potential of the Cuban economy and key industries, the market for goods and services, as well as a meeting place for business partners from Latin America and the Caribbean. In a conversation with Baldin, he expressed the hope that participants from the Russian Federation, including delegations from Russian regions, will be represented at it “as widely and effectively” in 2024.
