Maria Sharko, magistrate judge of court district No. 95 of the Moscow Otradnoe district, will consider the case of Leonid Gutarov, who came home to the Komsomolskaya Pravda military correspondent Alexander Kots. Mediazona found information about this on the court’s website.
Gutarova is accused of violating privacy (Part 1 of Article 137 of the Criminal Code). It is not specified when exactly the consideration of the case on the merits will begin.
According to the investigation, the 28-year-old Muscovite “collected information” about Kots for a fee in order to pass it on to an accomplice. According to the Investigative Committee, in early November the accused “secretly monitored the home of the journalist’s family members” and “tried to obtain information about his professional activities from the journalist’s wife under false pretenses.” The authors of the Mash telegram channel, without specifying sources, specify that Gutarov received 5 thousand rubles per day “for work.”
The man’s arrest became known on November 8, and the next day he was sent under house arrest. Initially, it was reported that the Muscovite was interrogated in the case of obstruction of journalistic activity (Part 1 of Article 144 of the Criminal Code). In court, Gutarov admitted his guilt; his lawyers asked to be released on his own recognizance.
