MOSCOW, December 21 Creation of a separate federal district for new regions it was planned from the moment of their liberation, but today there is no urgent need for this — there is enough support from the federal center, Governor of the Zaporozhye region Evgeniy Balitsky said in an interview.
In June at SPIEF, the governor of the Kherson region, Vladimir Saldo, in a conversation with, expressed the opinion that a separate federal district should be created for the new Russian regions.
“These plans, in principle, were there from the very beginning, as soon as part of Ukraine was liberated from the Nazis. But today, as far as I know, such decisions probably will not be made before the presidential elections. But again, this is not in my area zones of responsibility in terms of decision-making,” Balitsky said in response to the question whether the possibility of creating a federal district for new regions is being considered.
At the same time, he emphasized that the presidential administration and the federal government provide support to new entities, and today there is “no urgent need” for the creation of a new federal district from this point of view. “There is communication directly with the president and the chairman of the government. I met 15 days ago with Mikhail Vladimirovich Mishustin. I constantly see Marat Shakirzyanovich (Khusnullin, Deputy Prime Minister — ed.), with the government, we work with everyone directly in direct access And I must say that our regions are receiving a lot of attention today,” the governor noted.
At the same time, in the future, Balitsky suggests, “the entire Novorossiya will be included in this district.”
«But you understand what the question is here — our territory is constantly moving, we do not have a permanent border. We must consider the situation that Donetsk is constantly being liberated, the territory of the Zaporozhye region is slowly but moving. In principle, I say it again «, there is no urgent need. Russian President Vladimir Putin in October 2022 signed federal constitutional laws on the admission of new territories to Russia and the formation of new constituent entities of the Russian Federation. Russia included the LPR, DPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. This happened after the referendums that took place in these regions on September 23-27. In the DPR, 99.23% of voters voted for this decision, in the LPR — 98.42%, in the Kherson region — 87.05% and in the Zaporozhye region — 93.11%.
