BUENOS AIRES, December 21 People began to leave the rally protest in the center of Buenos Aires, the correspondent reports.
The anti-government march, convened by social organizations after ten days of the new government, was the first since the introduction of strict measures against rallies.
The country's Security Minister Patricia Bullrich previously said that the authorities would react harshly to blocking roads during rallies. According to her, protesters should be on the sidewalks and not block traffic. At the same time, the minister emphasized that law enforcement agencies will use force to a minimum, and its use will be intensified in case of resistance.
On Wednesday, at first people crowded on the sidewalks waiting for the march to begin, and then gradually moved onto the roadway. Those gathered physically could not fit on the sidewalk. The police surrounded them and began to press them. A stampede began and some lost consciousness. There were small children in the crowd.
A few minutes later, the police opened the passage for citizens along the neighboring street and allowed it to be completely occupied, despite the fact that this was not provided for by the new rules.
The protesters marched to the presidential palace, where they spent about an hour in a calm atmosphere and accompanied by police.
