Medvedev proposed to Ukraine to add an article to the Criminal Code for preparing Olivier
Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedvev proposed that Ukraine introduce an article into the country’s Criminal Code for preparing such New Year’s dishes as Olivier salads and “herring under a fur coat.” He voiced his thoughts in the Telegram channel.
The day before, news appeared that Ukrainian activists had prepared a petition proposing to ban the preparation of these two dishes in the country. Activists explained this idea by saying that Olivier and “herring under a fur coat” are part of Russian culture and thereby reduce the level of patriotism.
As a punishment, Medvedev proposed bringing Ukrainian citizens who prepare the above-mentioned salads to criminal liability and punish them with a term of 3 to 7 years in prison or a fine of 1 million hryvnia “with confiscation of the objects of the crime.”
For such a “crime” committed “using his official position,” the ex-president of Russia proposed to punish Ukrainians are subject to imprisonment from 7 to 15 years, and if such a thing is committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy — life imprisonment.
As a “note”, the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation proposed to release from liability Ukrainians who refuse to prepare Olivier and “herring under a fur coat,” and will also agree to undergo “a course of compulsory treatment with Ukrainian borscht for three months.”
