The captured paratrooper spoke about situation in the units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces
Pavel Koshchenko, a serviceman of the 79th separate air assault brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, who surrendered, spoke about the “street” mobilization and the situation in the Ukrainian units. A video with his story was posted on his Telegram channel by military correspondent and military expert Boris Rozhin
Koshchenko said that he was mobilized when he was leaving work, his phone was taken away and he was not given the opportunity to contact his family. Having passed the commission, he went to the training ground, but he only had to shoot once. There, from his colleagues, he learned about large losses in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“When I joined the unit, the guys said that there were a lot of 200s and 300s, mostly mobilized. They are immediately sent to zero,” said Koshchenko, noting that his unit has been in a position without rotation for a year, and during this time the composition has been completely renewed.
He also said that the commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine consider residents of the eastern regions “ second-class people,” and therefore put them in the most dangerous positions.
“We are simple, hard-working people. And they consider themselves an elite, close to the West,” said Koshchenko.
He also said that his unit was abandoned, without communications, food and ammunition, and supplies ran out in 3 days. Subsequently, according to him, he accepted the offer to surrender to Russian troops.
