MOSCOW, December 23 Number of people willing to nominate their candidates for the presidential election have reached 29 people, the head of the Central Election Commission Ella Pamfilova said at the meeting.

“Super busy, many of our colleagues are now going to congresses of candidates, of which there are now 29,” she said.
In the middle of the week, Pamfilova said that the Central Election Commission had received applications from 16 candidates.Russian presidential elections are scheduled for March 17. Voting will take place over three days, from March 15 to 17.
This week, the current head of state Vladimir Putin submitted documents for registration as a candidate. He will run in the elections as a self-nominated candidate. Now he has to collect at least 300 thousand signatures of Russians, from December 27 to January 31, they must be submitted to the Central Election Commission. The commission will check the signatures and within ten days will make a decision on registering the candidate.
