““I went to the elections, I head the headquarters…, I will coordinate all the work, perform the role of a person who ensures the election campaign,” — Zyuganov said in response to a journalist’s question why he himself will not go to the polls.
The congress of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation is taking place in the Moscow Snegiri region. The presidential elections of the Russian Federation are scheduled for March 2024.
From the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, its leader Zyuganov ran for the post of President of the Russian Federation four times — in 1996, 2000, 2008 and 2012. He took second place in all presidential elections. Kharitonov was nominated by the Communist Party of the Russian Federation in the 2004 presidential elections, then gaining 13.69% of the votes and taking second place. In 2018, the party candidate was the director of the Lenin state farm, Pavel Grudinin (11.77% of the votes, 2nd place).
