MOSCOW, December 26. The Chinese economy continues to grow, despite the crisis in the real estate market, but it will not be able to overtake the United States and become the largest economy until 2037, the Times writes, citing a report from the British Center for Economics and Business Research. CEBR).
According to researchers, the United States will again take first place in the 2050s, and India will become the world's largest economy in the 2080s.
Analysts predict that Germany may lose its status as the third largest economy by 2026 due to a slowdown in growth amid sanctions against Moscow and dependence on Russian energy.< br />““The narrowing of the gap between the economies of Great Britain and Germany will be caused by the slowdown of the latter as a result of its dependence on Russian energy for the development of the manufacturing sector,” the publication writes.
Between 2033 and 2038, the gap between the economies of Britain and Germany will narrow slightly. It is expected that in 2026 Germany will lose third place to Japan, and in 2027 India will replace Germany in fourth place.
The CEBR predicts that India, at ten trillion dollars, will become the third largest economy in 2035, resulting in a shift in global geopolitics as two superpowers are joined by a third.
According to analysts’ forecasts, in the global ranking, Russia, occupying eighth place as of 2023, will be in 11th place in 2024 and 14th in 2038.
The CEBR expects global GDP to be $104 trillion in 2023, rising to $219 trillion by 2038, with much of the growth coming from less developed economies.
