MOSCOW, December 31 Promising niches for Russian exporters in Egypt could be the supply of agricultural machinery and equipment for irrigation, which are also popular Russian steel, copper, timber and grain, said the Russian Trade Representative in Egypt Alexey Tevanyan.
““If we talk about promising niches for our suppliers, then agriculture is very important, which is consistently interested in agricultural machinery and equipment for irrigation,” he said.
As Tevanyan noted, wheat remains a traditionally in demand Russian product, without which even in times of crisis the Egyptian economy cannot do without. He recalled that Russia is the main supplier of grain to Egypt: in the past agricultural year, the volume of supplies amounted to more than 8 million tons.
«Our vegetable oil and steel are also popular. The developed local cable industry has a significant demand for copper, and the furniture and construction industry for wood,» added the agency's interlocutor.
Among other promising areas of export from Russia to Egypt, the trade representative named technological solutions in the oil and gas industry and in the IT sector.
