    MOSCOW, January 1 Deputy Speaker of the State Duma Vladislav Davankov submitted documents to the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation for registration as a candidate for the presidency of Russia from the New People party, the correspondent reports.
    Davankov submitted documents to the Central Election Commission for nomination for the presidency of Russia on December 25 after the congress of the New People nominated him as a candidate for the presidential elections in the Russian Federation.

    Later, the Central Election Commission registered authorized representatives of the New People party, authorized representatives on financial issues, and also allowed Davankov to open a special election account for the formation of an election fund.

    “Today we submitted documents for registration, on January 1, since there will be no time in the next few days. We have several trips planned, we will start this year from the Urals, visit Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk and other cities,” Davankov told reporters.< br>Nominees from parliamentary parties do not need to collect voter signatures; they will be able to submit documents for registration until the end of January. The CEC must decide to register all candidates no later than February 10. Earlier, on January 1, LDPR leader Leonid Slutsky submitted his documents for registration as a presidential candidate.
    The Russian presidential elections will be held on March 17, 2024.
