MOSCOW, January 2. Ukrainian troops shelled Shebekino in the Belgorod region, preliminary, no one was hurt, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said on the Telegram channel.
«The Ukrainian Armed Forces shelled the city of Shebekino. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties. One of the shells flew into the administrative building of one of the industrial enterprises — windows are broken, no fires,” he wrote.
It is noted that operational services are working on the spot.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the Ukrainian military fired 17 Alder missiles of its own design at Belgorod and the region during the day, all of them were shot down by Russian air defense systems. As Gladkov clarified, during the last attack on the administrative center of the region, a man was killed and five more people were injured.
Massive shelling of Belgorod
On the afternoon of December 30, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked Belgorod. According to the Ministry of Defense, they used Alder missiles with a cassette part and the Czech Vampire MLRS. Air defense systems intercepted most of the shells, but several ammunition and cluster parts hit the city.
As the department emphasized, enemy troops fired in an attempt to divert attention from defeats at the front and provoke the Russian army to similar actions.
According to the latest data, 25 people became victims of the attack, including five children, and more than a hundred people were injured. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under the articles “Attempted murder”, “Murder”, “Intentional destruction or damage to property”.
President Vladimir Putin called the incident a terrorist attack, noting that it was a targeted attack on the civilian population, which will not remain unpunished.
