MOSCOW, January 4 Soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces complained about heavy casualties after an unsuccessful mission near the Dnieper, reports the Washington Post.
“
"We are suffering a lot of losses. We are simply losing people, but there is no result,” Ukrainian military journalists quote.
According to the soldiers who participated in the operation to cross the Dnieper, their mission was not successful: they suffered losses while trying to cross across the river, and even after that they came under artillery fire, losing even more people.
According to some military personnel, such operations are not worth their lives, but, as journalists noted, the Ukrainian leadership needs to show its Western sponsors have at least some success.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that units of Ukrainian troops do not abandon attempts to land on the left bank of the Dnieper, but are destroyed on the way.
