Governor of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov announced the evacuation of residents of the region and spoke about the meeting with the mayor of Belgorod. Those wishing to move to safer places are promised to be accommodated in Stary Oskol and Gubkin.
“Today we are ready to transport you to Stary Oskol and Gubkin, where you will be in fairly comfortable conditions, in warm and safe rooms. You will stay there as long as necessary,” Gladkov wrote. He added that if there is a shortage of places in the region, he will turn to other governors for help.
According to the head of the region, several families have already been helped to move. As Gladkov explained, to get help you need to contact him, at the reception or by calling the rescue service. After this, you must inform about your intention to leave.
Earlier today, Gladkov said that as a result of the shelling of the region, 74 people are in local and Moscow hospitals, 20 of them are in intensive care. The center of Belgorod came under heavy shelling on January 1st. Then, according to official data, 24 people died, including four children.
