At the St. Petersburg Pulkovo airport the day before, January 8, the lead singer of the group “Puppies” Maxim Tesli (Moiseev), who was about to fly to Kazakhstan, was detained. This was reported by sources of the telegram channels Mash and Baza, as well as RIA Novosti and 78.RU.
According to 78.RU, Moiseev was taken to the police department in the Kalininsky district of St. Petersburg, where a report was drawn up against him about petty hooliganism (Article 20.1 of the Administrative Code). RIA Novosti and Fontanka write about the same protocol.
The detention is related to the performance of the group “Puppies”, which took place on January 7 at the Mod club. During the concert, Moiseev came on stage wearing a sock on his penis and performed the song “White on White.”
After publishing a video of Moiseev’s speech, informer and activist Vitaly Borodin wrote in his Telegram channel that he was “preparing an appeal to initiate a criminal case.” Borodin saw “LGBT propaganda” in the musician’s actions.
The head of the “Safe Internet League” Ekaterina Mizulina called the lead singer of “Puppies” an imitator of rapper VACÍO, who was arrested first for 15 and then for another ten days under the article of petty hooliganism due to participation in the “naked” party of blogger Anastasia Ivleeva. The rapper came to the event, which took place on December 20 at the Moscow club «Mutabor», wearing one sock on his penis.
“Interesting details have been revealed: subscribers report that the performer has been appearing on stage in this form for several years, but no one paid attention to it,” Mizulina wrote about Moiseev’s performance. According to information from Fontanka and Baza, employees of Center E were “interested” in the appearance of the lead singer of the group “Puppies.”
State Duma deputy Vitaly Milonov also spoke about the concert: “This unknown performer most likely decided to follow following the example of another unknown Moscow performer precisely for the reason that he is unknown to anyone. And he wanted people to talk about him. And he figured for himself that he was ready to sit for 15-20 days in order to enter the charts <…>. So he is fighting as hard as he can against the structure of the country that exists now.” Milonov added that Moiseev “needs to secure a career as a cleaner in a temporary detention center.”
