Anarchist Azat Miftakhov, who is in Kirov pre-trial detention center-1, is not allowed to see his wife Elena Gorban. She spoke about this in her Telegram channel.
As Gorban writes, the reason for this was a letter that she sent to Yevgeny Trushkov, a prisoner and acquaintance of Miftakhov. Trushkov gave testimony, on the basis of which a new criminal case was opened against the anarchist for justifying terrorism (Part 1 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code).

According to Miftakhov’s wife, “the former friend was friendly again and wrote a statement to the investigator” with a request to include her letter in the case. In addition, as Gorban reported, the investigator did not allow her to communicate with her husband by phone.
“Perhaps something will change closer to February, when Azat becomes a defendant, and permission will have to be asked from the judge. In the meantime, we can only correspond and see each other only through the VKS at the courts to suppress or appeal the actions of the IC, to which I constantly go,” Gorban writes in his telegram channel.
In January 2021, Miftakhov was sentenced to six years in prison for hooliganism (Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code). According to security officials, in 2018, anarchists broke the window of the United Russia office in the Khovrino district of Moscow, threw a smoke bomb inside and posted the video on the Internet. A secret witness, questioned a year after the case was opened, claimed that he identified Miftakhov by his “expressive eyebrows.” The anarchist himself denied that he participated in the action.
Two weeks before his release, the anarchist was added to the “list of extremists and terrorists” maintained by Rosfinmonitoring. The day after leaving the colony, on September 5, 2023, Miftakhov was sent to a pre-trial detention center on a new case of “justification of terrorism.” According to investigators, in the spring, while watching news about the war, Miftakhov said out loud that he would “take revenge” for the death of a friend who fought on the side of Ukraine, and that “FSB officers should be blown up.”
