MOSCOW, January 10. Prices for eggs are unlikely to decrease, Galina Bobyleva, general director of the Rosptitsesoyuz, told the Parliamentary Gazeta.
«Eggs will not become cheaper. In my opinion, the established prices — 110-125 rubles per dozen — are absolutely normal and fair and adequate for this product,” she said.
Bobyleva explained that today the price from manufacturers is within the range of 95-105 rubles, and everything else is an inevitable trade margin.
Chicken eggs in In Russia in 2023 prices have risen by about one and a half times. As Vladimir Putin explained at the final press conference, this was caused by an increase in demand, while production did not increase and imports were not opened on time.
In mid-December, Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev announced that the department was expecting supplies from Azerbaijan and Turkey, which would allow prices to be adjusted.
The government, from January 1 to June 30, allowed duty-free imports up to 1.2 billion pieces of chicken eggs.
