YEKATERINBURG, January 13 Seven cases of hepatitis A were detected in Krasnoturinsk, Sverdlovsk region, all sick people bought products at local Giro eateries at different times, the press service of the regional administration reported Rospotrebnadzor.
“In Krasnoturinsk, on January 11-12, seven cases of hepatitis A were registered among adults. The diagnosis has been laboratory confirmed in three people so far,” the message says.
It is specified that an epidemiological investigation showed that all the sick people at different times bought products from the Giro eateries on Leninsky Komsomol and Ryumin streets .
«Serious violations of sanitary and epidemiological requirements were found at food establishments: there is no water supply, products do not have shipping documents, employees do not undergo a medical examination, and prepare meals in non-special clothing,» the department noted.
In addition, according to the department, the individual entrepreneur did not notify Rospotrebnadzor about the start of business activities; supervisory measures could not be carried out in accordance with current legislation.
As added by the press service, laboratory examinations of cafe employees and studies of water and food samples are being carried out. A protocol has also been drawn up on a temporary ban on the activities of Giro eateries; the case materials will be submitted to the court.
