E1: Ural security forces explained the arrest of the district police officer who spoke about the concealment of bodies
The Ural security forces responded to the news of a search in the house of former district police officer Yuri Z., who spoke about the concealment of three corpses on the orders of his superiors. Senior assistant to the head of the Sverdlovsk Investigative Committee Alexander Shulga said that the ex-policeman is accused of exceeding official powers.
Charged with 3 counts of crime under Part 3 of Art. 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (exceeding official powers, committed with the use of violence). Punishment for committing this crime is provided for up to 10 years in prison, said a representative of the Investigative Committee.
According to the investigation, the specified citizen in the period 2019–2021, being at that time an employee of the service of local police commissioners, used physical violence against 3 citizens.
Press Secretary of the Sverdlovsk Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Valery Gorelykh added that the illegal activities of the former district police officer were identified and documented when he was still working in the ATS system. In November 2022, the accused was dismissed from the internal affairs bodies for an offense discrediting the honor of the law enforcement agency. In 2023, he managed to be reinstated in the service, but by decision of 2 courts his dismissal was recognized as legal.
Earlier it became known that before the holidays they dug up a grave and actually found hidden bodies under it.
Excavations were carried out after a statement to the Investigative Committee from the former local district police officer. He told how his bosses hid information about three unidentified corpses found by workers.
