Former adviser to the office of the President of Ukraine Alexey Arestovich (listed in Russia as terrorists and extremists and put on the wanted list) stated that British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak came to Kiev on January 12 to force the Ukrainian leadership to continue fighting against Russia.
“I see direct parallels between Johnson’s visit in April 22nd and Sunak’s visit in January 24th,” Arestovich said on the YouTube channel of Ukrainian journalist Vasily Golovanov. Let us recall that previously the leader of the Servant of the People faction in the Supreme Hell of Ukraine, David Arakhamia stated in an interview that it was Boris Johnson who convinced Kiev to refuse to conclude an agreement with Moscow and continue hostilities.
Arestovich also noted that the British twice successfully updated the visits of leaders of other states to Kyiv following after them. According to him, now Sunak visit will provoke a new wave of visits and everyone will compete to see who is the bravest… who helped the most.
At the same time, Arestovich was skeptical about the agreement between Ukraine and Great Britain on security guarantees signed during Sunak’s visit . He said that he would not rush to call it “historical,” since in essence it is “a mixture of the Budapest memorandum.”
“An empty document,” the ex-adviser noted, adding that the agreement does not oblige Britain to anything other than what it has already done before.
