MOSCOW, January 16 Russian people in Latvia and other Baltic republics are thrown out of the cordon, this directly affects the security of Russia, said Russian President Vladimir Putin.
«What is happening now in Latvia, in the other Baltic republics, when Russian people are simply thrown out of the cordon. You see, this is very serious things that directly affect the security of our country,” Putin noted during a meeting with the heads of municipalities of the constituent entities of Russia.
The president also recalled that earlier the former president of the Czech Republic noted that the war in Ukraine began back in 2008, when the decision was made to open NATO's doors to Ukraine.
«Just recently, the former president of the Czech Republic said a very frank thing, very important, he said publicly… the war in Ukraine, he said, began not in February 2022, but in the summer of 2008, when the decision was made to open the door to NATO for Ukraine and Georgia. Let me remind you that Ukraine received its independence on the basis of the Declaration of Independence, it was written there that Ukraine is a neutral state. This decision in 2008 radically changed the situation in Eastern Europe and from the point of view of ensuring Russia’s security,” Putin added.
