The International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) suspended Russians and Belarusians from the final starts of last season due to the situation in Ukraine. In October, the FIS Council extended the suspension for the 2023/24 season. Russian skiers compete at the stages of the national cup.
“»Everyone has passion, it doesn’t matter whether you are an Olympic champion or not, so it seems to me that everyone is interested in performing. I see that athletes do not lose motivation, despite the suspension. The athletes themselves are happy, they are joyful. Among them there is intrigue, there is a desire to perform, so I think everything is okay,” Legkov said.
