MOSCOW, January 17 The Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation approved the procedure holding a draw to determine the dates and times for broadcasting campaign materials, according to which registered candidates are recommended to submit an application for participation by February 11.
“To approve the procedure for holding drawings to determine the dates and times of airing election campaign materials of registered candidates, political parties, joint campaign events on the channels of state and municipal organizations engaged in television and (or) radio broadcasting during the presidential elections of the Russian Federation in 2024” , says the resolution adopted at the meeting.
The CEC reported that the date and time of the draw will be informed in advance. During the presidential elections, airtime will be provided on five television channels — Channel One, Rossiya 1, Rossiya 24, TV Center and OTR, as well as on three radio channels — Mayak, Vesti FM, Rossiya radio «, print space will be provided in 13 Russian state publications.
“To participate in the draw, registered candidates are recommended to submit a written application for participation in the draw no later than February 11 and, during the same period, provide information to the election commission of the constituent entity of the Russian Federation, so that the commissions can already prepare for the specific procedure of the draw,” said the CEC secretary Natalya Budarina.
If candidates do not submit an application, then authorized members of the commission will take part in the draw for them.
Also, according to the approved procedure, free airtime will be provided for joint events, that is, debates, for election campaigning by political parties that nominated registered candidates, in addition, free airtime will be provided for posting campaign videos of candidates.
