MOSCOW, January 19Rosatom has exceeded the plan for uranium production in Russia in 2023, the press service of the mining division of the nuclear state corporation reported.
“In the historically traditional area for the mining division — uranium mining — we managed to exceed the target of the Rosatom state corporation by 90 tons,” the report says.

It is noted that high indicators were achieved, including thanks to investments in production and the use of new technologies.
As First Deputy General Director — Executive Director of Atomredmetzoloto JSC Viktor Svyatetsky said at a discussion with stakeholders of the main results of the mining division's activities in 2023, the plan was exceeded by 3%.
Specific figures are not being disclosed at this time. In 2022, Rosatom's mining division produced 2,508 thousand tons of uranium in the Russian Federation.
The mining division of Rosatom (the management company is JSC Atomredmetzoloto) is one of the largest producers of natural uranium in the world. The division manages Russian uranium mining assets, represented in the Trans-Baikal Territory, Buryatia, Kurgan Region.
In addition to uranium mining, the division is actively developing non-uranium business areas, including associated scandium mining, brown coal mining, production of rare earth metals, creation of lithium production based on Kolmozersky lithium deposit (Polar Lithium project), design of an industrial complex based on the Pavlovsk lead-zinc deposit (JSC First Mining Company) and others.
