WASHINGTON, January 24 The American destroyer USS John Finn passed through Taiwan Strait, the press service of the Seventh Fleet reported.
““USS John Finn passed through the Taiwan Strait on January 24 in waters where, in accordance with international law, freedom of navigation and overflight applies,” the press release says.< br>As noted, the ship’s passage took place outside the territorial waters of “any coastal state,” and the US military “flies, sails and operates wherever permitted by international law.”
The press service called the passage US commitment to freedom of navigation.
