“We are often asked the question of whether international observers will come to us. Of course, they will,” — Pamfilova said at a meeting of the Central Election Commission.
«According to our forecasts there will be at least 500. From 500 to 1000 from more than a hundred countries of the world,» Pamfilova added.
The Federation Council has scheduled presidential elections for March 17, 2024. Voting will last three days: March 15, 16 and 17.
The Chairman of the Central Election Commission also announced that observers from at least 13-14 international organizations are expected at the presidential elections in the Russian Federation.
«»We can already assume that there will be representatives from no less than 13-14 international organizations. Well, in general, we also have the right to send invitations to independent observers, say, those who have observer status. I am now talking exclusively about those “who has the status, the right of international observation,” Pamfilova said on Wednesday at a meeting of the Central Election Commission.
Currently, 11 people are vying for the post of head of state. The Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation has registered three presidential candidates — Leonid Slutsky, Nikolai Kharitonov and Vladislav Davankov. Since all three are representatives of parliamentary parties, collecting signatures in their support is not required to register as candidates for the elections.
Nominees from non-parliamentary political parties — Sergei Malinkovich, Boris Nadezhdin, Andrei Bogdanov, Sergei Baburin, Irina Sviridova must submit at least 100 thousand by January 31.
Self-nominees — Vladimir Putin, the Russian Rada, Anatoly Batashev must collect at least 300 thousand signatures. Previously, signature sheets were submitted to the commission by Putin's headquarters.
The Central Election Commission must decide to register all candidates no later than February 10.
