In Singapore, the world premiere of the second-generation mid-size Porsche Macan crossover, built on the PPE (Premium Platform Electric) modular platform with 800- voltaic electrical architecture. The new Macan will hit the global market next summer, but orders are already being accepted and prices are known.
The new Macan has become the first production model on the PPE platform and the second electric vehicle in the current Porsche product line after the Taycan. Some details of the PPE platform were revealed back in December, and today a full premiere took place and exact technical specifications were announced.

The new Macan does not have any special prefix such as EV or Electric, that is, it will be problematic to distinguish a gasoline crossover from an electric one by nameplates. But it is obvious that the electric Macan looks plumper compared to its predecessor, the dimensions have grown in all directions, and the wheelbase has increased by 86 mm to 2893 mm. The overall length of the electric crossover is 4784 mm, width — 1938 mm, height — 1622 mm. Standard wheels are 22-inch.

The front of the new Macan has a two-story “optics”: daytime running lights are located on the upper floor, and the main LED headlights with optional matrix filling are located on the lower floor. The body is carefully designed from an aerodynamic point of view; there are movable flaps in the front and bottom that open when necessary for more efficient cooling of the power plant. A retractable spoiler is installed in the tailgate. The claimed aerodynamic drag coefficient cx of the new crossover is 0.25.

The interiors of new Porsches, unfortunately, are completely standard, with common screens and microclimate units. The curved 12.6-inch instrument screen does not have a visor. The central multimedia screen is 10.9 inches, a second screen of the same type can be installed for the front passenger, and an augmented reality projection screen with a virtual diagonal of 87 inches is available for the driver. The electric Macan has two trunks — a main trunk with a volume of 540 liters (with the backrests of the second row seats folded — 1348 liters) and a front trunk with a volume of 84 liters, it is convenient to store the charging cable.

So far, the new Macan has only two versions, both with four-wheel drive and both equipped with a battery with a capacity of 100 kWh (of which 95 kWh is available to consumers). The maximum charging power is 270 kW; you can replenish the charge from 10% to 80% in 21 minutes. Each electric motor is packaged in a common housing with a reduction gearbox and a power electronics unit.
The basic Macan 4 is equipped with a spring suspension with two-valve shock absorbers, the maximum output of its power plant is 408 hp. and 650 Nm, acceleration to 100 km/h takes 5.2 s, top speed is 220 km/h, maximum range on a single charge is 613 km in the WLTP cycle.

The Macan Turbo has adaptive air suspension by default, and a fully controlled chassis with a rotating rear axle is offered for an additional fee. The maximum output of the Turbo version of the power plant is 639 hp. and 1130 Nm, acceleration to “hundreds” takes 3.3 seconds, maximum speed is 260 km/h, maximum range on one charge is 591 km according to the WLTP cycle.
Curb weight of the version Macan 4 — 2330 kg, Macan Turbo version — 2405 kg. Both versions can tow a trailer weighing up to 2 tons.

In Germany, the electric Porsche Macan 4 costs from 84,100 euros, the Macan Turbo — from 114,600 euros. For comparison, let's say that the base petrol Macan (2.0 l., 265 hp) is still available in Germany at a price of 69,895 euros, the top-end Macan GTS (2.9 l V6, 440 hp) costs from 96,075 euros.
