BELGOROD, January 26 Governor of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov reported on the VKontakte social network that more than 20 victims of the shelling of Belgorod are still being treated in hospitals, of which five children.
«All the children who were in our Belgorod hospitals have already been discharged. In general, there are still 23 people in hospitals in Moscow and Belgorod, of which five are children in Moscow hospitals. All those who are being discharged remain under our control» , wrote Gladkov.
The governor emphasized that rehabilitation and medical support for the victims are priority issues. The authorities are ready to provide maximum assistance in this area.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, on the night of December 29 over the Belgorod region, Russian air defense systems destroyed 13 rockets fired from Ukraine. On December 30, air defense systems intercepted Vilkha missiles and most of the Vampire MLRS rockets; several rockets and cluster parts from the downed Vilkha missiles hit Belgorod.
25 people were killed, including five children, and 109 were injured. Since then, the city and other areas of the region have been subjected to major shelling several times.
