MOSCOW, January 26 Population of Ukraine compared to 2014 decreased by two and a half times, the country reached such indicators for the first time in a short period, said former Prime Minister Mykola Azarov.
«The population of Ukraine has decreased by two and a half times compared to 2014. This has never happened in such a short period. None of the «famines» that they (the Ukrainian authorities — ed.) came up with are not even close to comparable with the consequences of their rule now. They have mocked Ukrainians and the common population so much over the years that my hair stands on end,” Azarov wrote on the social network Facebook*.
Azarov believes that any other nation would have already “pulled out and torn to pieces” Vladimir Zelensky. However, Ukrainians prefer to flee the country.
In November, Azarov reported that the population of Ukraine over the past two months had decreased by 4 million people, to 19 million.
In December 2022, the director of the Ukrainian Institute of Demography and Social Research named after M.V. Birds Ella Libanova reported that 2023 will be the year of a catastrophic drop in the birth rate. Later, the analytical resource OpenDatabot, which aggregates official data in the country, reported that the birth rate in Ukraine had reached its lowest level since independence.
