MOSCOW, January 25 Head coach of Union Berlin Nenad Bjelica was suspended for three Bundesliga matches and fined 25 thousand euros after an incident with a blow to the face of Bayern football player Leroy Sane, according to the official Union website.
On Wednesday, Bayern beat Union at home with a score of 1:0 in the rescheduled match of the 13th round of the German championship. In the 75th minute, Bjelica was sent off for hitting Sane in the face as he tried to take the ball from the coach.
“Nenad Bjelica and Union Berlin have agreed to the decision, which means it is legally binding,” the team said in a statement.
Previously, Bjelica said that he did not intend to apologize to the football player. The player himself said at a press conference that he does not hold a grudge against the coach.
Bayern with 44 points is in second place in the Bundesliga standings, where Union (14 points) is in 15th position.
