MOSCOW, January 26 Up to 80% of jobs in the economies of developed countries are created annually by companies under five years old, and technological entrepreneurship today is a driver of economic development , said Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.
The Deputy Prime Minister’s Office reported that on Student Day, Chernyshenko met with participants in the University Technological Entrepreneurship Platform projects, winners of the Student Startup competition and project managers of university startup studios. The meeting took place at the Kaliningrad State Technical University and brought together students from all over Russia — in-person representatives of the Kaliningrad region and in HKS — participants of entrepreneurial boiling points from other regions.
«Today, all over the world, technological entrepreneurship is a driver of economic development. Thanks to it, startups are created, jobs are created in knowledge-intensive areas and economic growth is stimulated. Up to 80% of new jobs in the economies of developed countries are created annually by companies under five years old. At the same time, many successful companies were created when their founders were still students. The university is an ideal platform for starting a business: a knowledge-intensive environment, human capital, access to research infrastructure,» Chernyshenko said, his words are quoted in his office.
He recalled that in 2024 the government will allocate 2 billion rubles to support student projects, which is 500 million rubles more than last year.
The Deputy Prime Minister’s Office also added that at the meeting the students presented their developments, talked about their practical benefits, and also asked Chernyshenko questions about the development of startup projects.
In conclusion, the Deputy Prime Minister congratulated the students on their holiday and wished them further success.

In addition, the Deputy Chairman of the Government instructed the organizers to collect feedback on the problems faced by budding technology entrepreneurs in order to further develop effective support measures.
