KRASNODAR, January 26 The court detained for two months a resident of Adygea, who is accused of strangling a woman and her two-year-old daughter in Krasnodar, and then returned and tried to burn their apartment, follows from the release of the joint press service of the Kuban courts.
According to the regional SUSC of the Russian Federation, on Tuesday evening the defendant came to his 28-year-old friend, with whom he “previously maintained close relations.” In her apartment on Zapolyarnaya Street in Krasnodar, they quarreled, the man hit her in the head and strangled the woman, and then dealt with her two-year-old daughter.
The next day, wanting to hide traces of the crime, the accused took the child’s body to a field in Adygea and set the apartment on fire, the press service of the courts added. Neighbors saw the fire and called emergency services, and the 27-year-old suspect was soon detained.
“The court considered it necessary to satisfy the investigation’s request and chose a preventive measure against the defendant in the form of detention for two months, until March 25,” the statement says.
The regional prosecutor’s office also stated that the accused confessed, saying that he committed the murder as a result of “sudden enmity.”
