BARNAUL, January 26. A motorist involved in an accident hit a woman standing at a bus stop in Barnaul, the Altai Territory prosecutor's office is conducting an investigation, Assistant Regional Prosecutor Maria Antoshkina told reporters.
«Altai Territory Prosecutor Anton German ordered an investigation into the report of a road accident «, which occurred this evening in the city of Barnaul. After contact between two vehicles, one of them drove to a tram stop and hit a 49-year-old woman. She is receiving specialized medical care,» the report says.
It is clarified that the prosecutor will have to assess compliance with road safety legislation, the causes and conditions that contributed to the incident, the compliance of the road surface and the markings applied.
The press service of the regional headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs later added that the department was also conducting an inspection, its implementation was put under control by the head of the department Andrei Podolyan.
«It has been previously established that the driver, a 30-year-old man, driving a Toyota Camry, did not give way when leaving the adjacent territory (yard) and collided with a Toyota Mark II car driven by a 28-year-old men. After which a Toyota Mark II car hit a pedestrian — a 49-year-old woman standing at a tram stop, and a tram driven by a 45-year-old woman,» the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.
