KEMEROVO, January 26 Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko, during a working trip to the Kemerovo region, got acquainted with the use of artificial intelligence in practical medicine, the correspondent reports.
Earlier, Murashko said that in all regions of Russia, with the exception of new subjects where the necessary infrastructure is still being formed, artificial intelligence has begun to be used in medicine.
In one of the clinics in the city of Kemerovo, the minister was told about the diagnosis of breast cancer using artificial intelligence technologies. The program highlights the tumor in the image, determines its size and provides a conclusion that helps the doctor make a diagnosis.
As the doctor at the clinic said, artificial intelligence is a great help for doctors, while it makes virtually no mistakes in identifying malignant neoplasms.
The Minister, in turn, emphasized that if any inconsistencies in the work of artificial intelligence are identified, doctors should inform Roszdravnadzor.
“»Artificial intelligence programs that are already being implemented make it possible to identify breast diseases and actually optimize the time spent examining the image. And of course, they can improve the accuracy of diagnosis, which is important for this disease,» said Murashko to journalists, summing up the results of his visit to the Kemerovo region.
