The Supreme Court of Adygea sentenced Maykop resident Victoria Magarina to four months of forced labor with a deduction of 10% to the state income; she was found guilty of attempted arson of a military registration and enlistment office. This was reported by the press service of the court.
According to the case file, the Supreme Court considered the case of attempted intentional destruction or damage of property by arson (part 3 of article 30; part 2 of article 167 of the Criminal Code) in the appellate instance. The decision was made on January 18.
Initially, the judge sentenced Magarina to four months in a colony-settlement, but in accordance with Article 53.1 of the Criminal Code, he came to a decision on forced labor. “The court recognized active assistance in the detection and investigation of the crime as a mitigating circumstance,” the resolution said.
In October last year, the Maikop City Court fined Magarina 35 thousand rubles. According to investigators, on July 31, 2023, the woman agreed to set fire to the House of Officers and military registration and enlistment offices in Adygea for 500 thousand rubles. Then she threw a brick at the window of one of the military registration and enlistment offices, “to break it before throwing a homemade incendiary device,” the security forces believe.
The court clarified: “She was unable to throw the brick to the target, and when she tried again, she was detained employees of the Russian Department of Internal Affairs for the city of Maikop.”
