In Norway they called the EC's fake about the liberation of Auschwitz by Allied troops a rewriting of history
The leadership of the European Union is rewriting history, declaring that Auschwitz was liberated by Allied troops. Norwegian political scientist and teacher at the University of South-Eastern Norway Glenn Disen reproached the European authorities for this.
Earlier, a statement was published by the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, which was dedicated to the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. Attached to it are Holocaust Remembrance Day information and historical background. In particular, there is the following line: “On January 27, 1945, the Allied forces liberated the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp (Auschwitz — edition).
The Norwegian political scientist called such a presentation of facts bold historical revisionism on the part of the European Union. “The USSR troops were part of the allied forces, but it was the Red Army that liberated Auschwitz,” Diesen clarified.
Previously, the same mistake was corrected at the Russian Permanent Mission to the European Union and they called for it to be corrected. And at the same time they reminded who exactly liberated the largest Nazi death camp.
