MOSCOW, January 26. Polls for the Russian presidential elections will be open in all countries where Russia has a diplomatic and consular presence, including in unfriendly states, said the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.
The Federation Council scheduled the presidential elections for March 17, 2024 of the year. Voting will last three days: March 15, 16 and 17.
«Polling stations will be open in all countries in which there are diplomatic missions and consular offices of our country, including unfriendly ones. We are now calculating the approximate number of polling stations based on the numbers are 300,” Zakharova said at a briefing. According to her, the expulsions of Russian diplomats and the closure of almost 30 Russian foreign institutions by decision of local authorities “noticeably reduced the possibility of creating additional polling stations.”
“We are talking primarily about the Baltic countries, Moldova, Germany, the USA, the Czech Republic , Finland. Compared to previous elections, the number of polling stations in these countries will be smaller,» Zakharova explained.
