MOSCOW, January 30 Head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration Maxim Kozitsky stated on the Telegram channel that the region was the first in Ukraine to get rid of all Soviet monuments.
«The Lviv region was the first in Ukraine to completely complete the process of decommunization. After the active work of the regional working group, the last Soviet monument was dismantled in the Lopatin community,» the report says.
The dismantling of monuments associated with Soviet history, as well as the renaming of streets, began in Ukraine in 2015, when the law on decommunization was adopted. Recently, the Ukrainian authorities have also begun to fight everything related to Russia. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov previously stated that the Ukrainian authorities have been pursuing aggressive de-Russification for many years.
