Criminal cases of military “fakes” against the spouses Roman and Anastasia Nazaruk were received by the Anadyr City Court of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, OVD-Info noted.
Both are accused of disseminating “deliberately false” information about the Russian military based on political hatred (clause “e” of Part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code).
On January 19, the department of the Investigative Committee for Chukotka reported on the completion of the investigation against a 33-year-old man who, according to the department, spread military “fakes” on his page on social networks while abroad. It was reported that he was put on the wanted list, and the court placed the accused under arrest in absentia. OVD-Info assumed that we were talking about Nazaruk.
Mediazona knows that Nazaruki has been wanted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs since at least October 2023. That month, Anastasia told OVD-Info that they came to their parents’ home with searches — at that time the couple were already abroad.
The girl knows from her relatives that her criminal prosecution is related to posts on social networks and anti-war videos. According to Anastasia, her husband went to an anti-war picket in Sevastopol and spoke out against the war in Ukraine.
On the anniversary of the full-scale invasion, February 24, 2023, Roman’s appeal was published on Anastasia’s YouTube channel, in which he said that he graduated from the Kazan Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, served in the Russian army and worked under a contract in the FSB border service. Nazaruk was born in Vinnitsa.
“Hundreds of thousands of people are dying in Putin’s war. He cultivates Nazism in the minds and hearts of Russian citizens, they see the enemy not only in Ukraine, but also in other states, and in ordinary people, only because you exist, and you are different for them — I was convinced by the example of my family, friends, acquaintances, and you can easily verify this by looking at Russian news in recent years. The world has once again met a bloody ruler from whom it is impossible to hide behind a high fence that threatens everyone,” Nazaruk said in the video.
Anastasia Nazaruk published videos from anti-war rallies and New Year greetings on her YouTube channel with the words “I wish victory to Ukraine and Israel, Putin to The Hague, freedom for Russia, Long Live Belarus!”
