The new SUV will be offered with a choice of two petrol turbo engines, all-wheel drive will also be available. The start of sales is scheduled for the second quarter.
At the very end of last year, the Chinese premium brand Hongqi (the brand belongs to the FAW concern) announced the expansion of its model range in Russia. Now the first official details have appeared about one of the upcoming new products: the HS3 SUV is coming to us, it will join the older SUVs with the HS5 and HS7 indices, the full-size electrocross E-HS9, the HQ9 minivan, and the H5 and H9 sedans.

Recall that the Hongqi HS3 debuted in China in 2023, today this model opens the cross-line of the brand. By the way, the company is positioning the five-door as the second generation: its predecessor was an electric car, it was called E-HS3, but in its homeland it has already been withdrawn from sales due to low demand. The new HS3 does not have a purely electric version.
The exterior is designed in the current Hongqi corporate style, its characteristic features are double-decker head optics and a massive radiator grille a la Rolls-Royce . HS3 is not only the most affordable, but also the most compact cross of the brand: length (in the specification for China) — 4655 mm, width — 1900 mm, height — 1668 mm, wheelbase — 2770 mm. Thus, in terms of its dimensions, the crossover is comparable to the Infiniti QX50.

In the cabin there is a virtual tidy and a vertical tablet multimedia system. In China, the model also includes one or two wireless charging pads for smartphones, heated and ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, all-round cameras, a parking assistant, adaptive cruise control, auto-braking and lane-keeping systems.

In Russia, the Hongqi HS3 will be available with petrol turbo-fours 1.5 and 2.0: in the first case, the cross is exclusively front-wheel drive, the model with the older engine has all-wheel drive. The recoil of our SUV has not yet been revealed. In China, the base engine produces 169 hp. and 258 Nm, it is combined with a seven-speed robotic gearbox with two clutches; power 2.0T – 252 hp, maximum torque – 380 Nm, this engine is equipped with a classic eight-speed automatic transmission.
The SUV is now undergoing certification in the Russian Federation. Hongqi HS3 will hit the market in the second quarter; specifications and prices will be announced closer to the start date of sales. For comparison, the recommended price of the Hongqi HS5 crossover starts at 4,990,000 rubles.
