The Geely Okavango will be offered only with front-wheel drive and will become a more affordable alternative to the flagship all-wheel drive crossover Geely Monjaro.
Okavango is already flashing on Russian roads, as gray dealers have successfully mastered the delivery of this model, but in the coming months the spacious crossover will officially come to Russia. In China, Okavango is known as Geely HaoYue L, it has been produced since 2020 and has already gone through two restylings; the most recent version of the 2023 model is being brought to us.

Overall length of Okavango is 4860 mm, width is 1910 mm, height is 1770 mm, wheelbase is 2825 mm. The front suspension is McPherson type, the rear is independent multi-link. Under the hood is a non-alternative 2.0-liter petrol turbo engine from Volvo (200 hp, 325 Nm) paired with a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission (with two wet clutches), this model has only front-wheel drive.
The main advantage of the Okavango is its spacious 7-seater cabin (the flagship Monjaro has only 5 seats) with a seating configuration of 2+3+2. In the second row there are three separate seats, like in minivans, and for passengers in the third row there are individual ventilation system deflectors. Full heating is provided only for the front seats; in the second row, only the side seat cushions can be heated. With all seats in use, the trunk volume is 227 liters, with the third row folded — 628 liters, with the second and third rows folded — 2360 liters. Cars with black leather interiors will be supplied to Russia, while more “cheerful” colors are available in China.
In Russia, the official Okavango will be offered in two trim levels — the basic Luxury and the top-end Flagship. Standard equipment, that is, the Luxury package, includes six airbags, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, a 10.25-inch instrument screen, a 12.3-inch multimedia screen, a six-speaker audio system, surround-view cameras, rear parking sensors, electric driver's seat adjustments, electromechanical handbrake, keyless entry system and push-button engine start, all-LED optics, roof rails, 19-inch alloy wheels.
The Flagship package additionally includes a set of various electronic driver assistants, a panoramic glass roof with a sunroof, electric front passenger seat adjustments, wireless charging for a smartphone, front parking sensors and an electric luggage compartment doors.

Prices and the start date of sales of the official Geely Okavango in the Russian Federation have not yet been announced. At gray dealers, the crossover of the same name costs in the range from 3.2 million to 3.6 million rubles, and these are mainly cars with a 1.5-liter gasoline turbo engine with a power of 177 hp, which is not available in China for the HaoYue L, then there are gray dealers selling an export version — under the name Okavango it is sold in the countries of the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Latin America.
