In the Nizhny Novgorod region, a collapsed bridge crushed a cash-in-transit vehicle
On the Nizhny Novgorod — Samara highway, a pedestrian bridge collapsed, as a result of which people almost died.
As reported by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the region, the culprit of the incident was near the village of Nizhny Novgorod was a truck driver who drove under a bridge, ignoring the height restriction sign. It was established that a tank with chemicals, which the truck was carrying, touched the structure and collapsed it onto the highway.
According to Mash, at the time of the emergency, a collection van was also passing under the bridge, and the structure crushed the car body. At the same time, the cabin of the van remained intact, as did the driver and the second collector who were in it.
The police reported that a protocol under the Code of Administrative Offenses had been drawn up against the driver of the truck. While the bridge is being repaired, it is planned to organize a temporary ground crossing for pedestrians.
